Taekwondo is a combative sport and was developed during the 1940s and 1950s by Korean martial artists with experience in martial arts such as karate. The sport has over 60 million practitioners in over 184 countries, Korea is the world governing body.
The sport is graded you start with a white belt and work your way up to black belt, which is beyond professional level.
